Edwin Maldonado

As East Coast Vice President for the national organization, Edwin Maldonado oversees the activities of NLPOA chapters in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C. and West Virginia.

He is the proud founder of the New Jersey State Chapter of the Latino Peace Officers Association and he remains very active with it, sharing equal enthusiasm with current LPOANJ President Hector Ramos.

A lifelong resident of Plainfield, New Jersey, Maldonado is a graduate of the Union County Police Academy and currently serves as a detective with the Plainfield Police Department.

Over the course of his distinguished career, he has been the recipient of numerous awards including three Meritorious Duty awards, five Excellent Duty awards, five Commendation awards, one Life Savings award, nine Perfect Attendance awards, and multiple letters of commendation.

Maldonado is a certified arson investigator, hostage negotiator, community policing officer, personal protection specialist, and a certified instructor at the Union County Police Academy.
