Police search for missing 14-year-old Roselle boy

Published January 13, 2011

ROSELLE — Police are searching for a 14-year-old boy who’s been missing for more than a week.

Fernando Osorio, an eighth-grader at Abraham Clark High School, hasn’t been seen since Jan. 4, said borough Detective Lt. James Loprete.

Authorities said they believe the teen ran away after his school called home about a disciplinary matter.

“He got wind of this and he never came home from school,” Loprete said.

Fernando has gone missing in the past, but never for such a long time, he said. Officers have searched a number of places around town.

“We checked the entire high school, some abandoned buildings in the area where he lives, even his old grammar school,” Loprete said.

Fernando is about 4-foot-10 and weighs 95 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a blue and gray ski jacket, white polo shirt, navy blue pants and gray, black and red Nike sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call borough police at (908) 245-9200.
