Ralph Rivera, Jr. Receives NLPOA 2008 Leadership Award

Undersheriff Ralph Rivera, Jr. of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office has been recognized by the national organization as a recipient of its 2008 Leadership Award.
Undersheriff Rivera has spent thirty years in law enforcement. After a distinguished career with the New Jersey State Police (NJSP), he was appointed to serve as the Executive Undersheriff for the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office in January of 2005.
Undersheriff Rivera spent twenty-seven years with the NJSP, retiring at the rank of Major. He is a graduate of the elite Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, a Certified Affirmative Action Mediator, a Certified Public Manager and a member of the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies from Fordham University as well as a Master of Arts degree in Education from Seton Hall University.
