Programs: Kids Fly Tying Club
The Kids Fly Tying Club of North Jersey is a hands-on program designed to introduce children of all ages to the art of fly tying and the sport of fly fishing. The club’s goal is to help teach and mentor kids so that fly fishing will grow and be sustained for the future.
Program components and topics to be covered include:
- basic fly tying (new pattern each month)
- aquatic bug life cycle
- bug identification (mayfly, caddis, terrestrial)
- fly fishing and casting
- knots
- reading water (streams and lakes)
- fishing first aid and safety
- fly tying and fishing equipment review and education
The club meets on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Randolph Fire Company #2, 340 Route 10 West in Randolph.
